Four things do most of the work: a durable exterior that survives the overhead locker, wheels that roll straight and quiet, a secure lock, and a warranty that means you keep the suitcase for years. The Aviator Carry-On covers all four, with a 70% recycled polycarbonate exterior, Hinomoto Silent Glide 360 spinner wheels, a TSA-approved lock and a 10-year warranty.

The exterior is 70% recycled polycarbonate from certified post-consumer waste, with a unique fleck that shows the recycled material mixed through. The lining and interior straps are 100% recycled polyester, and the zips run on YKK Natulon® recycled tape with aluminium zip pulls. Every suitcase has aluminium-reinforced corners, a TSA-approved lock and Hinomoto Silent Glide 360 spinner wheels.

Yes, it's durable. Polycarbonate is lightweight and strong enough to flex under pressure and bounce back instead of cracking, making it well suited to hardside luggage. Ours is 70% recycled, made from certified post-consumer waste, with a textured finish that hides everyday scuffs better than a high-gloss one.

It comes down to trip length. The Carry-On suits a weekend or a short break, the Grand a week or two, and the Trunk two weeks or more. The Carry-On is a cabin size; the Grand and Trunk are checked. See the Size Guide for exact dimensions and packing volumes.

The Carry-On nests inside the Grand or the Trunk, so the smaller size stores neatly between trips. The Grand and Trunk are our two largest suitcases and are made to be packed, not nested inside each other.

Both. Every Aviator comes with a 10-year warranty, and the wheels, handles and lock are all designed for disassembly and repair, so a single worn part is replaced rather than the whole suitcase. See the Warranty page for full coverage details.
