What happened to Paravel?

Paravel is back.

We relaunched in October 2026 and intentionally kept what people already know us for, preserving the most recognisable and bestselling silhouettes, including the Aviator, Packing Cubes, Luggage Tag & Canvas Tote, because those designs resonated so strongly.

What we redesigned and rebuilt comes down to material science, materials, refined colourways and modular repairability. A refreshed palette and thoughtful colour blocking deliver a quiet freshness tied to our New England Coast roots. Inside, a fine 100% recycled striped lining reads like summer linen, a classic nautical nod to coastal travel.

The core updates are structural: premium recycled polycarbonate shells, modular component disassembly, and comprehensive material traceability. Every piece is built demonstrably better, supported by verified data. Our supply chain is now 100% traceable from end to end.

The Relaunch

The relaunch took the time it took because we went through the collection piece by piece, asking one question of every component: keep it, or rebuild it.

What we kept is what people already know us for. The Aviator silhouette. The ribbed exterior, refined to reflect the deck of a classic yacht. The signature stripe, five blue and white nautical bands that run through the whole collection.

What we rebuilt is nearly everything else. Better materials, more of them recycled, and parts you can replace instead of a suitcase you have to.

Designed to be kept, not replaced. That is the idea the whole relaunch sits on.

Our American Roots

Paravel began in 2006 in New York City, and this collection is a modern and innovative evolution of that.

The palette comes from the New England coast, and from Bar Harbor, Maine, in particular. Nostalgic summers, salt air, painted hulls, striped linen. We design for people who travel with intention and notice the details. Adventurous, independent, optimistic. It is the spirit the brand started with, and the one we came back to.

The New Colours

Four colourways carry the collection, each named for a place on the New England coast.

Nantucket Cream. Warm and pale, and the closest to the Paravel you already know.

Bar Harbor Navy. Deep and quiet. The lead colour of the relaunch.

Newport Red. A considered red, closer to a painted hull than a bright accent.

Mystic Black. The most understated of the four, and the most versatile.

The Collection

The Aviator Collection is our hardside luggage and the heart of the relaunch. The design you recognize, rebuilt around better materials and repairable parts, in all four colourways and in sizes that run from a weekend to a season away.

The Signature Canvas Tote, previously the Cabana Tote, is back, and it is the piece people ask us about most. Made from Better Cotton Initiative certified premium cotton with a waterproof, dirt-resistant finish, it carries the signature stripe webbing, a 100% recycled striped lining, and a branded metal stud closure. Inside, a secure latch and an address cardholder. It carries the day, from boat to beach to dinner.

Materials & Craft

Sustainability and craftsmanship are the same conversation for us. A piece made well lasts longer, and the piece that lasts longer is the responsible one.

The Aviator exterior is premium 70% recycled polycarbonate from certified post-consumer material, with aluminium-reinforced corners. Inside, the lining, compression panel, and webbing straps are 100% recycled, and the zips run on YKK Natulon® recycled tape with 100% recycled aluminium zip pulls. A 100% recycled laundry bag and dust bag come with every suitcase.

The details are where the craft shows. Premium Japanese Hinomoto Silent Glide 360 spinner wheels that run quietly through a terminal. An elongated hexagon, drawn at 60 degrees, that repeats from the zip pulls to the badges. Fine striped lining that reads like summer linen.

The canvas side of the collection works the same way. Better Cotton Initiative certification covers how the cotton is grown, and the waterproof, dirt-resistant finish is there so a tote sheds a wet dock rather than remembering it.

Every wheel, handle, and lock is designed for disassembly and repair. That means what it sounds like: a wheel that wears out is a wheel you order, not a suitcase you replace. Our supply chain is 100% traceable, and a QR code on every piece opens its Digital Product Passport, with the full material story, care guidance, and the repair guides themselves.
